A Place to Call Home, an Education and Vocational Training

«Every child who leaves our home will have learnt a trade or a profession and be capable of establishing a source of livelihood»

The Loving Shepherd Orphan Home

LovingSheperd

The orphanage in Vizianagaram, which was newly constructed in 2000, is a place of refuge for 140 boys and girls aged between six and nineteen years. Most of them are either orphans or were brought to the home by parents who were no longer able to provide food and schooling for their child.

All the children attend the home’s own school and consequently complete standard compulsory schooling to the age of 16, after which they receive vocational training or start an apprenticeship. Those who prove to have special talents continue their school education at an external college and then attend university.

A Home for Beggars’ Children – Vishakapatnam

The Vishakapatnam Home for Beggars’ Children was opened in May 2006, and is home for 50 children. The children, who were brought to the home by their parents, are cared for on a stable, everyday basis and attend the local school. The Bartimæusproject pays for support, clothing and school uniforms.
