Local projects - Help for the Poorest of the Poor

«Helping orphans, beggars, and single-mothers to help themselves – we cannot allow India’s fate to be inevitable poverty»

Children whose parents' death was brought about by AIDS amongst numerous other causes are left to fend for themselves on the streets. Beggars, or ‘The Untouchables’ are born into their particular caste and have hardly any chance of escaping exclusion from society. They suffer the most dire need imaginable. Single mothers practically never receive maintenance or help from the state, they have to support their children as best they can alone. Their fate is as much a part of India’s day-to-day life as is progress and modernity in India’s towns.

The Bartimæusproject helps where the need is greatest.
